Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is an organization that has a long history.  The goal of the group is to encourage local citizen involvement.  In the state of West Virginia, there are several organized groups.  What does the Friends of the Library Do?

Work toward quality Library Service by:

  • Stimulating public support.
  • Encouraging greater use of public libraries through expert promotion.
  • Enjoying the fellowship of other Library Friends.
  • Encouraging gifts, endowments, and memorials.
  • Supporting development of library services and facilities for community use.
  • Assisting in the development of special community programs for adults--arts, crafts, hobbies--and children's programs.
